Halloween 2012

Happy Halloween!  The kids caught on very quickly this year as to what Halloween meant for them...dressing up and getting candy...a dream come true!  We asked Bailey what she wanted to be and of course her response was, "a princess."  We borrowed Bennett's old fireman outfit for Banks...although it was a bit small, we made it work!  Banks is obsessed with fire trucks, so he was thrilled to put that thing on!  They started the week with a party at school where they got to dress up and trick or treat down the hallway.  That was day one of candy.  The next day was actually Halloween.  Day two of candy.  We got the kids dressed and headed off to all the families' houses to show off the costumes and get some more candy!  Then, we let the kids answer the door for a while and hand candy out to trick or treaters at our house.  They enjoyed that until some teenagers were standing there dressed in skeleton outfits and scary monster masks when Banks opened the door, and he took off running and threw the candy he was going to give them at me as he yelled, "I'm scared"!!!  Bailey made it a point to tell us every time she closed the door after giving someone candy, "That was so nice," meaning that she was so nice to give candy out...what are we going to do with her?!!!  We then took them trick or treating to a few of the neighbors houses.  Banks would have kept going all night, but Bailey wanted to go back to "Worley's" house and hand out candy.  For those of you who aren't aware, I am Worley.  Bailey has always called me that instead of Lori and we just don't correct her because it's cute!  Our house is also always referred to as "Worley's house."  We've tried to correct that one, but she is very insistent that she is right...maybe one day she'll get the fact that it is OUR house!  Anyways, we definitely realized that our kids plus candy equals a sugar high nightmare!

I will say once again that getting all 5 kids to look and smile is VERY challenging!
